Not trying to pry bro, so feel free to not answer, but how did you get involved or associated with someone like that to begin with? Maybe I'm misreading you original post, but it seems like the guys knew it was your house and what they were there for, so this leads me to believe you had some association with them. I don't want people like that to even know I live, they're walking problems. Whats their connection to you or your girl? Hopefully nothing illegal as this could affect going to the police if you can be connect with them to some criminal enterprise, not saying you are of course, just mentioning it to cover all bases.

This has to be someone that knows you. To do a dine and dash on you in that short of time and make a decision to target your gear (all 5k worth) seems to fishy. I just want to clarify that my advice was based on the idea you were in the US. I figure half the flag things are made up. If you are in Norway, I can't help too much not knowing the way things are done there or the police force. That sucks, but if they won't enforce the law for a break in they won't for retribution. Just make sure you don't bite off more than you can chew, if you can't take them let it go or try the cops anyway. Don't get burned twice.

Good move. Best advice I can give you is to stop before you do anything and ask yourself why you are doing it. If it is the best move and makes logical sense, then act, but if it is emotionally or ego driven with a high degree of risk, let it go. Guys like that will get theirs, not from you but from someone bigger, badder and twice as evil. Best revenge you can get is to watch it happen from the comfort of a great life you've setup for yourself and your girl.
