SHADOW! Omg.. Thinking overboard about preperation for the show...

So I've been going over and over in my head how to stand, posture, smiling, walking.. etc etc..

Go to tan yesterday and do my Visualizing thing I learned to do In MA.. Kinda like what Vel explained. See it... Do it.. mentality. Fall asleep in the tanning bed... but still dreaming of walking on stage............ THEN BAM

What happens... Of course My heel breaks and I go flying off the stage...... OMG I nearly busted up the acrylics with my legs flying and my arms swinging to catch my balance. :lmao:

I haven't even walked on stage yet and I've already busted my ass... LOL.. but atleast in my dream I looked good and I kept smiling ;)

I've decided to do something I think will help me to get concentration and focus back. I'm gonna start practicing my MA again. Though I still would get sweaty palms etc... I was able to pull myself together when I needed to.

Gonna start practicing my focus with my katas and my meditation. It helped me tremendously then.. but seems I got out of the practice and forgot that i can calm myself down by just controling my breathing.

It'll put a nice spin on things... esp when I come on and do a spinning sidekick combined with a reverse ridgehand, elbow and then a jab jab uppercut...... :qt: ........... Or Not :worried:

I always thought I was "past my prime" until about a year ago. I started training w/ more intensity after having baby #3 & becoming what I'd always dreaded (I like to call it "mawmaw"). I was dressing to hide myself, as where before I was so confident and proud of my hard work and dedication. I had several miscarriages and gained up to 160 prior to baby 3 (I'm quite squatty). After finding out my husband was having an affair I needed something to keep my mind off troubles for a few hours a day and I turned to my old friend Gym. I never looked back. Only after some marriage healing & a good year on Zoloft was I able to consider a competition. Seeing the women at several local shows motivated me. One lady was 37 w/ 5 kids and her body was ROCKIN. She actually competed against her oldest daughter and they both placed in the top 5! After that particular show I was pumped. I knew if she could do it, w/ 5 kids and a full time job...I could do it. I stay home w/ my 2 y/o. So i have more time than others. I know if I were still working full time, I'd never consider this-but that's just me. For whatever y'alls reasons are in choosing to compete, I applaud you. This is hard work. It's damned rewarding though. If I have the balls to get up on that stage and walk in front of people in ho shoes and 1/2 naked-anyone can do it! Good luck to all who are competing!

Very inspiring! One of my trainer's top national level girls is a 41 yr old grandmother....
