Just a fact that the microscopic holes in condoms are at least 50 times bigger than the hiv virus and will not protect against hiv-----the only one true sure answer is abstinence

This is NOT TRUE and has been demonstrated over and over again. A so called 'Natural' condom has pores big enought for hiv to pass through but with the semen that HIV is carried in it is unlikley. As for latex condoms. there is no doubt as to the science. This abstinance only crazyness is inherant sex-phobia. Gawd, wonder when the mosquito question will rear it's ugly head? "Lambskin" condoms do NOT protect against HIV, Latex condoms most always do BUT there IS documented evidence that they dont always work. Yes, some can be attributed to improper use etc but HIV has been shown to pass through latex as well.

Abstinence would be great, but in the real world latex condoms are the MOST reliable source of protection

Wow. I remember in 7th grade...(1997) we learned in class that the exact same thing the original poster said. They had a little animation video and everything. Pure brainingwashing on their part. They wanted to make every student sign a contract for abstinence and everything.....unbelieveable.

I agree with you Alan....latex is safe to use. It's those people who use it incorrectly are at risk.
