I have my safety pins set up on my power rack...they have saved me on the bench more than once . If I get stuck...I can drop it back towards my face and the safety pins will catch it.
who needs safety bars? If I fail, I will scream like a comanche until someone lifts the bar off my chest.
I let the weight come crashing down onto my chest, that way I know I have reached failure. I will let heavy weight roll across my ab wall and pelvis until I get it into my lap, then I will roll the bar over my thighs until the barbell rolls over my knees and crashes to the floor.
