first meal after cardio

I'm in a cutting cycle and I'm doin cardio ed with an empty stomach (in the morning),I usually eat protein pancakes made by myself and for the 4 final weeks I wanted to change and only eat a protein shake (50 g of whey)after to avoid all carbs sources in the day ( carbs in my pancakes come from oatmeal I put in).
Do you think it's a good idea ?
 
You are going to cut out all carb sources for 4 weeks? Am I reading that correctly? If so...I don't think that's a good idea. I really think you need to keep your oatmeal carbs in there...and your veggie carbs. You are going to run out of energy fast with no carbs in your system.

The original poster might have got the idea from the Keto diet.....which involves keeping carbs to a minimum to maximise fat loss. Suprisingly enough it can make you feel run down and a little bit cranky.....but apparently it works (BTW perhaps this should be on the Diet board).
 
Bad idea....only do NO carb if you are doing a keto diet.

Or you can do a low carb, or cycle your carbs.

What are your stats and goals?

You have to realize that carbs are not evil...you just have know when and what to eat..so you can manipulate your insulin levels.
 
I forgot to tell that I ate only carbs in the evning (oatmeal) but I eat carbs in the weekend,just to give me energy..
actually I'm at 205 pounds with +/-13 % bf,I'm on week 6 of my cutting cycle,still have 4 weeks to run and want to drop 4% of bf at least..
 
One idea:
You could try 40 grams of carbs(oatmeal) hour before training and 40 g of simple carbs in post workout shake...and have a carb up every few days.

I would say you should Eat between 2000-2500 calories.

So basically 100 grams of carbs/400 grams of protein/keep fat as low as possible except for one or two tablespoons of flax.

Do not have flax with any carbs.

But this is up to you because there really are endless variations of diets.
 
When do you workout?
You said you only eat carbs in the evening, that's not the best time of the day to eat them.
You could eat carbs around your workout just like strong island sugested, that will also gives you extra energy for having intensity in the gym and to recuperation.
If you want something on the radical side you can try the post by nclifter6feet6 called ""quick fix" cutting diet or beach diet " and take a look at the post "My proposed diet to get ripped!! Ideas ans opinions wanted. " by Mr BC, both on the diet board. You will find on this last very good advice on how to use carbs.
