for me i think it does.
case in point: i haven't been hitting the cardio at all for the last 3-4 months...about three weeks ago started hitting the track again, focusing on getting my mile time down.
3 times a week, various combinations of short sprints and 1 mile runs...first week in the 10s, 3 weeks later in the mid 7s with sub 7 easily obtainable in the coming days.
so today i trail ran 5 miles, in high desert elevation up and down switchbacks.
pretty grueling, but my per mile time was 12 minutes, pretty respectable considering the terrian and elevation...about par for the course for me when i'm in peak running condition.
and the max i've been running is a two miles per session (one fast mile one slow)
any commentary?
