face problems need help!

I've tried differn gel and some benzoclin... and bunch of other things. right now im trying solvere. it's a 4 step thing im using once a day which has a cleanser then a benzo peroxide...then a stridex pad thingy and finally a moisturizer. I am having some self esteem issues as it is because of this and would like to nip this in the butt. I am considering accutane after what i've read here. Typically after starting the program how long does it take to see results?

P.S I'd say my acne is moderate. mostly little zits with the occasional large one.

takes awhile for some people, and things often get worse b4 they get better. Just do it, get it over with, and have clear skin. Remember don't drink on accutane either... liver is already pissed off at you

You have to stay on accutane for 8 months and sometimes you have to go back on it for another 4-8 months if your acne comes back.

dro i thought the set time for a prescription was 5 months (20 weeks) also my acne isn't as horrible as some of the accutane journals i've seen so i highly doubt i'd need another 8 months.

Im delaying for a bit because the solvere i've been using seems like its having a bit of an effect. I'm having my parents call my dermatologist to get the scoop. Thanks for all the info provided here.

dermo = good shit. If you are already seeing a dermo, they're going to give you better advice than anyone here (assuming he/she is a decent doc)

ya i took accutane and it helped a ton i took a MEGA DOSE of that shit

120 mg ed for 6 months and i wanted to go 200 mg but he wouldnt go for that


i break once and while but retin A mircro in gel form helps awasome

Bro you're only 16 years old. Your body right now is going through a stage where your hormones are all over the place. Your acne may go away naturally on its own anyway.

I think this is a major problem with accutane...everyone goes straight to it. It can seriously screw up your body, and especially at such a young age.

As for dosage, someone mentioned 8 months and that's wrong. Usually it's only 6 monhs...sometimes less. Your dosage depends on your weight, but I agree, if you are going to use it, start at the lowest possible dose. You're only 16 remember! Protect your liver and do not consume any alcohol while on 'tane! Have your moisturizer on hand because your lips, nose, skin, etc will most likely dry out.
