explosive chest day

okay, so earlier in the week i did my heavy chest day...and tomorrow im going to do the light chest day for speed/explosive reps...im going to do inclines barbells, and flat dumbells...what would you guys recommend? I remember reading an article that said something like 8 sets of 3 reps, at 65% of the max...sound about right?

I could do:

incline barbells - 65% max, 8 sets of 3
flat dumbells - 65% max, 8 of 3

???

I know, but I think he tends to forget that others are bodybuilders and not powerlifters or strongman. There are a number of training styles represented on this board. We all favor a specific method:D .
 
yeah get rid of the flat barbell

work on 3-4 sets of incline about 4-6 reps, go for nice speed and form. I would say about 55% of max load. don't train to failure on this, you will probably be able to do a lot more weight, but that is not the issue at hand. you want size and strength so train for speed and not muscular failure, this will just burn out your cns and slow recovery time from your heavy workout
