Elbow pain doing skullcrushers

I get wicked pain from skullcrushers - seems to be more tendon-related than in the joint...the pain is right at the tricep insertion. I have to at least two light warm-up sets of the skullcrushers to avoid this, even if I've already done another tricep exercise first.

Also, it seems to help me if I lower the bar so it goes just behind my head, rather than lowering to the forehead or nose.

And you can resort to some IcyHot or something similar during your warm-up, as long as you don't go to some foo-foo gym where someone would complain about the smell :D
 
Elbow Discomfort

Ever try some yoga? The locust pose, where most of the bodyweight is on the elbows is great for increasing blood flow and relieving the discomfort. After doing this pose for two days, I eliminated my discomfort. Not to mention all the women who walk up and ask me what I'm doing :p
 
I get mad pains in my elbow too from skull crushers.

So I do other excersizes first, like dips or close grip bench press. By then my tri's are fatigued to the point where I can't go too heavy on skull crushers and therefore I have virtually no pain in my elbow.
