eating fast food on a cycle?

big pumper

New member
hey bro's, i was wondering if its okay to eat fast food on a bulking cycle. im in college and dont have the money to buy 6,000 cals a day, so i was thinking getting some cals from fast food because its cheaper.

will there be a greater chance i will get fat on my cycle if i eat fast food (im not talking fries and milkshakes, but meat sandwitches, different fried fish, maybe a burger etc). i mainly need protein, olive oil and otameal is cheap but i need a cheap source of protein which i dont have.

will eating fast food affect my gains and make me more likely to put on fat instead of muscle? or will i put on the same amount of muscle and just more fat to go with it?

On fina I can eat cake and still lose fat, gotta love it.
As to the fast food, a milkshake is better for you than fried fish.
Avoid fried stuff, and stick with sandwiches with no mayo or cheese.

Who said you have to eat 6k calories a day?

And you have money for gear, but not quality food?

milk shakes better than fish? i thought any ice cream, yogurt, etc was bad? its high in bad fat and also high gi. where fish on the other hand has omega 3's and protein, what is so bad about it being fried??

dude, call your mom, and remind her to teach you how to go grocery shopping. It is WAYYYYYY cheaper than fast food.. or goto the local butcher,, anywhere they measure beef in lbs and not oz... if you dont know how to cook, find some fat chick to love on for a while, cuz you know they know how to cook

i bought like 4lbs of beef for less than 8 bux... that is like... 16 1/4 pounders... u pay 2 bux for a 1/4 pounder at mc d's, so thats like $32 worth of quarter pounders.. huge bag of fries from grocery store, any where from $0.79 to a couple bux max.... and u get about 4 super size fries from even the small bags..... and dont drink any soda, its not good for you, water is cheap

lol, yeah water is cheap thats all i drink!

i dont know about the fries though, oatmeal is cheap and a good source of fries, i would probably get fat if i ate fries.

the beef sounds good, where did you get it that cheap, a butcher? how much protein is in a lb of beef? i will crunch the numbers and see if its cheaper protein than my $.50 cent cans of tuna.

$2 for 100g of protein (beef)
$2 for 4 cans of tuna or 120g of protein.

that actually a bit more expensive, what is the cheapest a lb of beef costs? can't i go to a butcher and get it cheaper? whats the cheapest protein on earth????

I'm on the road a lot in my job, so eating during the afternoons can be an adventure.

I've found that Subway has been a great friend.

Roasted Chicken breast on wheat has become a staple of mine.

chicken is so cheap. although if you don't have a place to cook or live in the dorm look to kfc. the bbq chicken sandwiches for $1.99. has 30 something carbs, 20 something protein, 6 fat, tastes pretty good too.

also a big can of tuna $3.29????? has about 75 grams of protein. just open the can and add mustard or something besides mayo to choke it down.

Super Wal-mart and HEB for your protien. Ground turkey ranges from $.77 to $.99 per ibs if you get those 1 ibs roles. That is about one penny per gram of protien. $3 will by you 300 grams of protien a day. Oatmeal. A big container for less than $2. You could afford a jar of natural peanutt butter for $2 or less every day. You are spending about $5 to $5.50 a day for 6 k cals, all clean food and getting over 400 grams of protien, tons of clean fats, and all of your carbs are very low GI. Learn how to shop cheap bro. Fast food is not only low quality, but is not cost effective. I'm a broke college student too.

hey bro, what is super walmart? is that the same as a regular walmart? i didn't know walmart carried ground turkey, i will go and check. also, what is HEB?

Well, having your location unlisted doesn't help here. Maybe you do not have an HEB where you live. But super wal-mart is a wal-mart that has a grocery store also. STill, alot of grocery stores have those round 1 ibs rolls of ground turkey. Cheap, but they aren't bad if you cook them a george forman grill.

Fuck Tuna. Eat beef, I ge Laura's lean groung beef, 8 oz has 45g protein and 9g fat. I eat a pound a day split into 2 of my meals.

Damn, one ibs? I'm eating anywhere from 3 to 6 ibs of meat a day right now.

I don't get all of my protein from red meat. 3-6 lb's is a little silly though. So you get 600g protein+ how much from the rest of your meals. I eat about 250-300g a day, 90-100 coming from red meat.

Him, most days I only eat meat and a ton of raw veggies. SOmetimes some natural peanut butter or nutts on the days I eat less meat. I do low carbs, with periodic carb ups for bulking. Long explianation that belongs on the diet forum rather than here. We argue this stuff over there alot. There are alot of freakishly big guys who do low carbs year round. I'm glad to finally see this adressed in a sticky on Elite now. Anyone read I belive its called "Insulin and big fat bastards" or something like that.
