Dieting when sick

What should a person due if they are dieting and get the flu and can't train for let say a week? My GF has been making good progress losing about 2 pounds per week for last few months. She gets a recurring flu like symtoms due to an infection in her tonsils (she is getting them takin out in Feb 06). When she can't train because of being sick what are you opinions on how she much should eat so she doesn't gain the fat that she worked so hard to lose?

Should she cut back all her protein and carbs because she is not lifting or doing cardio?

I was thinking of cutting her protein by a 0.25/day of what she is taking in right now and cutting her carbs by 0.5/day because she doesn't need the extra calories. Is this the correct thing to do?

the lowering of cals by .25 of her prot. and .5 of her carbs all depends on how many cals that comes out to. You don't want to reduce her cals too much so that she goes into starvation mode and starts burning muscle. But keeping your cals up while being sick is best, because the body is working twice as hard to get it well again.
