Just started back benching today. After a 7 month lay off to do some travelling.
I was pushing 205 for my max, this was PL style.
Previously i was benching 270 BB style.
Should i keep with the PL style will i see a faster increase in my bench this way... or should i go back to what im framiliar with?

If you are relatively new to PL style, you will probably not see a dramatic increase in your bench for a while. When I switched from BB to PL style of benching, I found all sorts of new weaknesses my body had.:D It took some time to see a noticeable increase in my bench as I discovered the new weaknesses and ways to overcome them.

Are your goals a higher bench press? Or a well developed chest? (Bodybuilder chest.) Knowing that will also weigh in your decision.

I personally prefer PL style now to save my rotator cuffs. And contrary to what some people think, my chest is growing with this style.

Is PL style better on the shoulders?

I have a very bad right shoulder which can only be fixed by surgery, but am still allowed to lift... :(

Anyways... i feel pain in my shoulder no matter what on the way down, but i get use to it... just makes it so much harder to go up in weight. :(

PL style is MUCH easier on the rotator cuffs. I switched from BB style to PL style due to pain in my rotators. The switch plus adding rotator cuff work has made a world of difference for me. I have no pain at all, and my bench is climbing.

I'll bite. What is PL style? I have a bad cuff and in more interested in strength anyway.
