There isnt anything wrong with crossfit, its based on some solid data and burns fat like nothing else.
That being said anytime you put a clock on something you run the risk of people cutting corners, rushing, using bad form etc and thats where people get hurt. If you have good coaches who call you out when forms slips and dont allow you to use exercises your not competent with in WOD's then you run a pretty low chance of injury.
On an aside I think crossfit has done a great deal to bring Oly lifting back into the spotlight. Its encouraged thousands to try oly lifting and has breathed new life into the sport. Having said that though a good majority of the crossfit coaches are not really qualified to teach the oly lifts and far too many gyms put oly lifts in the wods and/or allow those not competent in the lifts to perform them in WODS. I know plenty of people who have been injured doing snatches/cleans without them being against the clock and in a wod, add a clock and the chances of injury just increase.
