OKAY-

I have been doing the CKD diet for four days now...and the only thing I feel is....PUFFY, BLOATED, and just YUCKY!!! I don't know if I like eating all this FAT!! I eat mostly unsaturated and such, but it just doesn't seem right. Has anyone else had this experience with the CKD?
I have noticed that when I get done working out I feel the worst. My legs feel really swollen and I the only word to explain the way I feel is PUFFY.
So, if anyone else has had this problem, please let me know, is it just the beginning phase or what? And on average, how long does it take most people to notice results.
THANKS

That's the opposite of most people; usually you end up dropping a fair amount of water weight, so if anything, most people feel leanner right away. Has the scale moved at all? If I drop my carbs (not eliminate, just drop to ~30 grams/day or so), I usually drop 3-4 lbs. the first week of water weight.

What's your diet consist of?

I get the exact same feeling doing a CKD, i'm always bloated on the low carb/high fat portion of the diet. Especially after any high fat meal, my stomach blows up like a balloon. One possibility is food allergies/intolerances. If u use nuts, eggs, red meat, u can be allergic to all of them. THis turned out to be the case for me, but on top of that, even chicken w/ olive oil or the skin caused the reaction, so to me it was definitely the high fat intake. I look MUCH better on a low fat diet, regardless of what everyone says about it, its all that works for me. You might want cut down on the fats and up the protein, b/c ketosis isnt important for fat loss anyway. U can also try supplementing w/ magnesium, which is important for digesting fats. Digestive Enzymes w/ lipase and bile can help, as well as artichoke extract. For me its just easier to lower the fat, just using lean meats w/ some fish oil capsules. Research is now showing there are low fat and high fat phenotypes, people that genetically adapt better to higher fat diets and others who don't. It can also be fat malabsorption from insufficient bile, or digestive enzymes. Another possibility is a congested liver. I've done a few liver flushes, and purged a lot of gallstones, which has helped quite a bit, but i still do better w/ low fat.

When I do CKD for a few weeks, I start to get grossed out and nauseated when I try to eat all that fat and meat. That is when I go back to eating a low fat diet. Mixing up my diet really seems to help me to stay motivated.:D
