Centuries Leg Press

Has anyone ever tried Erik Frankhousers' centuries leg press?
It's like a reverse pyramid
1 plate x10 reps
2 plates x20
3 plates x30
4 plates x40
5 plates x50
6 plates x60
7 plates x70
8 plates x80
9 plates x90
10 plates x100 reps resting only long enough to add another plate and then going all the way back down to a single plate to finish. Even 'The house' admitted to only making it to 8 plates for 80. Just curious if anyone's ever tried this craziness and how far you made it.
And I searched but couldn't find a single video!

That seems pretty fuckin retarded. Dudes got some wheels on him tho. I heard of something like that but that makes my legs hurt just reading it.

Gotta agree with the poster above, I see no real gain to that program unless your gym goal is to completely destroy your legs/knees and everything else...I'll stick to 20 rep squats thank you very much.

Ya that is the stupidest thing I have ever seen.

I don't care how strong you are you could hurt yourself attempting something like that really easily.

Not only that, but it would thrash you so badly that the recovery period alone would take so long as to completely null any benefit of it of which I see none anyhow.

Kinda reminds me of these guys doing death workouts or whatever. These torture tests that are supposed to toughen you up.

LOL. Squat 5x5 or 1x20 hard enough and you'll be working your ass off.

naw, I'll do 300 lbs for 300 reps but I'd suggest the myofiberal damage would be very significant.. and i only take a 15 sec break at 100 / 200 reps..

It's to develop mitochondrial capacity, that is the ability of the muscle to accept more oxygen, thus being able to function longer.. = endurance training..

That's plates per side. Starts at 90 pounds and ends up at 900 pounds. And yeah it would probably destroy the average man but Frankenhouser isn't exactly average and from the looks of his legs I think he knows what works.

It definately works for the House, but no I have not tried it, nor will I ever. 20 rep sets are enough torture for me.

My coach has fuckin oak tree's for legs and he's never done such a retarded workout lol.

Using the look of some guy's thighs who is probably both genetically gifted in that department and probably enhanced is a poor way to judge the effectiveness of a particular method of training.

That's like looking at a elite race horse and going straight to the horses mouth for speed advice...
