Cardio?

Was recently talking to a guy a my gym, big fucker that just did a competetion. He was telling me that walking is best for trying to lose BF, along with a good diet. When walking you are not using your muscle as fuel for energy since it does not get your heartrate up so high. Just wondering what most of you do for cardio, and if you believe this type of thinking has any merit or not?
 
As long as you keep your heartrate in the fat burning zone it really doesn't matter what type of cardio you do....personally I like the precor....
