Can You Drink Skim Milk While Dieting???

Guys, I'm going to start dieting in a few weeks to shed some bodyfat(2-3%). I wanted to know what your thoughts were on adding Skim Milk to my Protein Shakes. Basically, the plan I'm following involves eating Protein & Carb meals earlier in the day based around my workout time and Protein & Fat meals later in the day. Will taking in Skim Milk(Diary) hinder my dieting process???
 
It depends on the person. I'm lucky enough to be able to use skim milk without it screwing me up. I've heard that it bloats other people sometimes. If its around your workouts, I would give it a try. Best of luck!

Milk will hinder diet results in most people. Milk is a no-no for those on low carb diets b/c it contains lactose & sugar. Dairy products can be hard for some people to absorb in large quantities. However, if you are a 'hardgainer' or that type, milk is great. Or if you're bulking. If you have a slow metabolism, more carbs will likely make you fat.
 
get an alergy test done. ive got mild lactose intollerance and ive found by cutting it out totally i'm pushing past my plateau
i know some guys ripped on drinking skimmed milk
even whole!
 
I use a cup of skim milk in my morning protein shake and I am on Keto - doesn't seem to effect me at all. I don't go everboard though, and I limit consumption to that one cup which is first thing in the AM. I fill out the rest of the shake with water if it's too thick.
 
I used to only be able to stomach a protein shake if I mixed it w/ skim milk, but then I saw a suggestion on the women's board to mix plain or vanilla protein w/ Crystal light and water. I tried some lemon-lime Kroger brand crystal light w/ plain whey pro and it tastes great! I always thought that fat free milk was no problem, but then I checked out the # of cals from SUGAR.
