Can I eat all 100 grams of protein in one sitting?

I'm currently having trouble getting the amount of protein I need by eating throughout the day.

Is it okay to eat 100grams of protein each sitting? Like I eat 100g of egg whites/chicken right now, then three hours later I eat another 100g of egg whites/tuna.

I heard somewhere we should only eat 40g of protein each sitting. Is this true?

Do it for a wile and see how it effects you bro. For most people its person to person. Some people can get by eating 100 grams at once and it works well for them. Others have to split it up more. I Never eat more then 60 grams in one sitting.

Also you can use digestive enzymes to help.

I would say not - the majority of it would would not be absorbed.

The key is eating small amounts and regular, keeping a positive nitrogen balance 24/7

Rate of digestion should be considered as well. If you take in nothing but protein it's probably not getting absorbed. Mixing with fat (and no carbs) is a much better approach.

Here is a shake recipe of mine:

25 gm casein
50 gm whey
8 tbsp flaxmeal
1 tbsp olive oil

That ends up at 99 grams of protein, 16 grams of fiber, and 32 grams of fat (1/2 poly and 1/2 monounsaturated)

This will most likely take 3 hours to digest.

Great mix. With proteins mixed like that you have varying digestion rates. The whey is digested quickly, the casein slower and the fats and protein in flaxmeal slower still. Nice.

i doubt it. i personaly do 70-80 but i am on the higher end. you definately wont be able to jump from 50-60 right to 100. you can inhance the amount of food your body will efectively process in 1 meal but it is a gradual process that takes time.

You can definitely eat 100g in one sitting, but the question is will it all be used... No real way to tell in my opinion.

back in my old bulking days I could down 50g protein from steak and 50g protein from eggs for dinner, but I doubt I really made use of all of it.

Now i try to eat 50g protein every 2-3 hours if it is from whole food. Or 50g every hour to hour and a half if it is whey...

this is true. if you think about it protein is usually accompanied by fat. fat in eggs, milk, around meats. use good oils to flavor your chicken, tuna, steak(sesame oil is awesome). don't cut out natural fats from your proteins and i think you will digest everything better. if your doing low/no carb its pretty easy to keep them out. personally i need my carbs.

each large egg is 7 grams of protien , removing the yolk makes the protien amount drop in half down to 3.5 grams of protien per eqq white.
You would have to eat nearly 30 egg whites at a sitting to get 100grams of eqqwhite protien.

Alot of guys get upset and think the white is all protien and the yolk is all fat. Sorry just not so.

BUT you need the yolk ! its loaded with nurtients to build muscle. Now if your over weight or have high cholesterol problems you might have to cut out some of the yolk consumption. But never underestimate fats important role in bodybuilding.
Fat is needed for production new skin, collogen, hair, hormones its very essential to the body

correct eboney , back in the late 60's early 70's bodybuilders drank whole milk, whole eggs, cheese, meats
they were not concerned about fat in the diet and all came in onstange in awsome shape.

when a person eats a meal with fat protien and carbs
it goes down into the stomach gets dissolved by hydrocloric acid
into the small intestine and large, the liver secrets bile to digest the fats, the pancreas releases enyzmes to digest fat, protien and starch.

here is the problem with protien shakes , or even just egg whites alone. They can move really quik through the system and down into the intestines where they " fermenate " and cuase gas.

You really do need the fat to slow down the digestion in the stomach and make sure the panreas and liver secret bile and enzymes. Alot of time a protien drinks will go through the stomach to fast and not get properly digested.

i remember reading this article a while back where this "bodybuilder" suggested you add cream or mix your whey with whole milk at all time which i rejected immediately(the whole low/no fat thing is drummed into women more than men i think). anyways he even suggest fats such as your fish oil sup post workout shake and meal. which would slow digestion of course, but it conflicted with that whole "one hour window" of opportunity claims I've been reading about(which i really don't buy into), If you’re already eating regular meals a day to keep your system running in tip top shape, what’s the likelihood your muscles will be deprived of nutrients after your workout especially if you do pre-workout meals which might take hours to even digest? then again it always made my tummy heave a bit if ate right after working out. in the end you just have to listen to your body, it tells you if your doing things right or wrong. :)
