Bulking on low/moderate carbs

Hmmm 7 months... 35 ibs of lbm with same bf? How new are you? Unless you have less than 6 months of training under your belt you'll need drugs. Just being honest with you on that one.

Less than 6 months of bb specifc training -- really new, I seem to be growing good right now. I think I might change to a more frequent less volume routine though. It's hard to find good information on the internet though, everything contradicts everything else.

AAO, everything contridicts everything else because most of what is done in bodybuilding has no science to back it, and every expert and guru believe that anyone who doesn't believe exactally as they do is an idiot and can't possibly make any gains. Less volume more frequincy is a good idea. There is a great deal of evidance that high frequincy training is effective. Ok, with you level of experience it may be possible to achieve your goal, but still it will be difficult.

Well I don't expect it to be easy. What sites do you get your evidence from?

I was thinking of getting a Poliquin book, I know he mostly advocates low carb diets for his trainees. I'm not sure the type of training for a bodybuilder he recommends mostly though, have you read anything about it?

AAO, Poliquin is probably a better source of info that most people on EF. Buy the book if you want. I've got books on this, no web sites, so no help there. Go buy some books on excersize science if you want that type of info.

Body,

I had ordered BODYOPUS and it just got here today. Read the whole book today, and it seems very similar to what you do. Have you read the book?

Basic idea is 5days with no carbs and 2days carb-up. What I really like about the book though, is the way he breaks down what percent of which types of foods you should eat. I think I may incorporate that into my diet.

SK, I was curious about the grams of protein Bodyopus recommends. Anabolic solution for powerlifters says 1.5-2 times body weight, others say 1 x body weight etc.

The diet is 30% protein and 70% fat on no-carb days, but I was more interested in the breakdowns of types of protein (whey, egg white, casein, etc).

I have been getting about 40-50% protein and 50-60% fat and it has not really slowed down the weight loss, although I have not tried lowering the protein intake. When I start to "bulk" again I think I may try 400 grams a day. I seems to be a fat burning freak, I carb up all day Sat and by sunday afternoon I am right back in Ketosis again, so maybe I am a special case. Thanks.

40-50% may kick you out of ketosis, at least according to some. Do you check with keto strips if you are in ketosis?
