Blood work done during long cycle...lots of protein in urine

This may not help but the presence of albumen in urine may indicate possible kidney damage/disease - if present it bascially means your kidneys are not functioning correctly. This is the same as with elevated urea concentrations - your kidneys are designed to filter this out of the blood and if high levels are found it indicates they are not functioning correctly - this does not mean they are damaged, just not working correctly. I do not use aas (this may change in the future) but i have experienced elevated urea levels (but not presence of albumen) while supplimenting creatine - when i stopped, all level went back to normal.

The doc may ask you to do a 24 collection of urine before seeing him to assertain how much albumen is leaking into your blood.

Elevated BP can also be linked to the presence of albumen.

You may want to see a Nephrologist who can monitor your kidney functions.

Dude you should stop what you are taking - it aint worth a new kidney, i hear they are hard to find

Note. A high protein diet is not bad for your kidneys - as long as you drink plenty of water to help them cope with the additional stress, by enought i mean at least 4 litres per day

Yeah thats what I'm thinking. I've done tons of research onloine and can't find any link to AAS abuse and proteinuria. I'll explain to the kidney specialist about all I'taken and hopefully that will help him determine a reason. I would just hate to say " hey doc I've been on this a that for a while..." and he just says oh that must be it. I'd almost rather have him figure it out through tests.

Here is an informative sight:

Don't tell your doc shit about AAS usage. I am willing to bet that you have already signed away your doctor patient confidentiality. It was in that handfull of forms you signed when you first went to him.

Once you give them a reason to stop looking for the problem they stop looking.

I tend to agree with you-nobody is your friend especially when you dealing with banned substances.

Cut back on the sugar and up you intake of healthy fats and your cholesterol will plummet. High cholesterol is definitley due to high, crappy, carbs. When you do a CKD or at least a modified low carb diet, even eating tons of saturated fat, your blood lipids improve dramatically. I just don't buy into the fat making your cholesterol bad and I never will. I did a low carb diet over the winter and my total cholesterol went from 238 to 139. HDL went from 38 to 48 and triglycerides went from 430 something to 40. Something to think about. But pissing out the extra protein makes sense. My urea levels were/are high for that always. I get about 250g per day and I always wonder about guys like Mike Mahler talking about too much protein and kidney problems. I don't know about that, but I am positive on the cholesterol deal.

Thanks I will try this approach. I usually stay away from suger and crap but pasta is a different story. I was also eating icecream and at least 18 whole eggs a day, i hate egg whites. I have to do another 24 hour urine test in a few weeks so i'll stay away from sugars for this test.

well, a common cause of albumin showing up in the blood would be the kidneys might be inflamed or damaged (nephritis)... barring this, do you have any issues with hypertension or any other cardiovascular diseas? Diabetes?

AFter all my bloodwork came back disease free including HIV and hepatitus my doctor thinks past recreational white powder usage (i only used for a short while and over 4 years ago) may have scarred my kidneys. He is also very concerned about any motrin or ibuprofin I may have taken over my life. He says this shit scars your kidneys over extended time and usage. I barely ever take any of that. Even after breaking my back i only went through 3 bottles in 1 year.

Never had hypertension. I have a mitral valve prolapse but it is good. No regurge and all blood flows in the right direction. Not sure if you want to count that as cardiovascular disease, i guess it is.

Shit bro so your body not using a lot of the protein you're eating... Is this detrimental to muscle repair?

lol maybe thats why I'm a hardgainer. Nah I don't beleive the 2 are related. Albumin is the protein leaking into my urine. Makes it frothy. They haven't found any muscle milk or prolab in there, at least not yet. That shit comes out the other end.

I keep telling the nephrologist I eat a ton of protein and he says its not the same. I didn't ask him if this will affect my muscle growth. They were more concerned about my life.

If I am not mistaken strenuous exercise such as weight lifting can increase it and painkillers.

Yes exactly a piss test right after strenuous exercise will show high levels of albumin. This is why I have to do a 24 hour test to get the average. Painkillers like motrin will damge the kidneys causeing them to leak protein.

Seemingly stupid question. Do your toes hurts? Reason being, excess urea can cause gout.

Bottom line; Bodybuilders eat a lot of protein and gear increases nitrogen retention. It can happen.

Treatment: Cherry juice. (Yep, don't know why but it works).

All the water you can drink and more.

EFA's

Increase fiber.

No alcohol.

And of course, lower the protein content.

Feel better.

No probelms with my toes. I don't think i have excess urea its the protein in the urea or proteinurea they call it. Too much albumin which is a protein then should minimally be excreted through urine. 30mgs is great 892mgs gets you a ticket to see the nephrologist. Kidney function was good and liver slightly elevated but is believed to be from a certain medication im on. seroquel. I will also add that caborgoline cannot be taken with seroquel for anyone who takes it. Not sure why but it says it on the thing you get your script from in the pharmacy.

I will try to drink cherry juice. I do drink plenty of water.

did you stop eating 12 hours before you got your blood work done? if not, this can cause your cholesterol reading to be high.

do you remember what your readings were for your HDL (good cholesterol), LDL (bad cholesterol) and Triglycerides

I did eat. ANd I sure whole eggs were in my system. Doc didn't tell me to fast and I didn't think of it. Besides with EQ i'd murder someone before I skipped my every 2 hour meal. I don't have the paper work with me anymore about the results, I gave the copy from my doc to the kidney specialist. I'll get another copy from doc when i see him next. I get rechecked for chol in a month or so. I cut out eggs and ice cream so we'll see what diff that makes. if it doesn't then he can stick me in lipitor or something similar. ANyone one bad affects of this?
