I did the Poliquin routine when bulking, and put some fairly decent size on my genetically challenged calves.
Now I've changed it up a bit. Try this (Arnold style, I guess, and realgains mentioned it too):
Do a set of 15 or so reps on the standing calf machine between every set of all your other exercises for that day. Go to concentric failure and do some burns in the last few sets too. Then do a triple drop on the final set. The pump feels like someone shoved a balloon in there!!!
I do these on shoulders and tris day, so, a set of heavy shoulders, a set of light tris, then calves, repeat. All works out to a HUGE never-ending set, and my god you'll be pumped at the end - ha ha - even on dieting carbs!
Then a few days later do 3 supersets of standing and seated calves with lower reps, as heavy as possible.
ROOOAAarrhh LOL!
