Best way to slim down?

I know there is a diet forum on this board but I am asking here because most everyone on the diet forums are new to BBing. And most everyone on AAS forums are 'veterans' to BBing.

A few months ago, this big guy came into my gym to workout in the AM. He looked very lean and muscular, I would guess 8% at 250lbs. I see him from time to time and he seems to be getting softer and softer. I waited till he finished his workout so that I amy pick his brain and he said that he is bulking up still. I asked him how can he get so lean while carrying all this bodyfat on him. He said that the trick is to fluctuate your carbs when you are dieting. For instance, he eats 300g of carbs on day one, 100g on day two, 150g on day three, etc. all the way till his carb depletion phase.

I have been told, in the past, to eat x amount of calories and decrease the calories each month until the achieved physique has been reached. (With one cheat day on the week) Which diet plan is better for losing bodyfat? How do you diet during your cutting cycles?

It is called a carb rotation diet, this is how you get into contest shape. We all use it in prep for a show.
Look up this book by Chris Aceto "Championship Bodybuilding" this book can put you on the right path using that diet and is easy to follow the way he outlines it

Carb-Cycling, basically where you cycle your carbs day in and day out, most high class PROs utilize the diet or a variation of carb-cycling.

PROTEIN/CARB CYCLING MANUAL - it's short write up I did for people to understand the implementation part of it...read more...

Good luck and if you have any other specific questions feel free to PM me,

You must spread some Karma around before giving it to Mr.X again.

thanks for the link!!!!!

You can carb cycle, fast, ckd, ANPB diet (cough), tkd, etc...but it comes down to calories in vs. calories out.........people tend to correlate carbohydrates with fat storage thanks to Mr.Atkins and todays mislead society.........check your BMR, you current cal. intake, and manipulate that amt. weekly in an effort to cut weight........pretty simple.

I have never counted a cal in my life, reason being, I know my maintence meals..so to gain weight, I add 500cals a day and take my measurements weekly.....opposite to cut........pretty soon , itll be second nature...........

So what you're saying is that it doesn't matter what we do with the macros, as long as the calories are correct. Do you agree in having a weekly cheat day?

cheat day? I would advise against itl...........personallyl I never cheat, however many do to keep sane....I'd limit it to a cheat meal, and make it as solid nutrionally as possible.......set a date, maybe in a few weeks, and have a good time......weekly? Not necessary and will hault your progress.....
