Bench and Back?

just a simple question....

when doing bench, should I do a few back excercises after? Im currently doing a routine for Bench about twice per week, after bench lots of Triceps, then maybe a few shoulder excercises.
When I "used" to be doing W/S, I remember doing lots of back/lat work on bench day too! But now im doing a basic bench-tricpes routine and train back on DL/back day. Seems to be working good, but just wondering if 1-2 excercises for back would be beneficial or not? I dont want to overtrain. :fro:

ok, one question though, I have been doing rows with the barbell (bar +45's) and feel that it was messing with my back! According to Luie, he says they Row all the time but rarely with the bar freestanding. Prefereably chest supported. Dont have one of these in the gym, but have another similar one I can use....
 
train back any and every way you can,have variety......do rows,d/b rows.lat pulldown,chest supported rows,seated cable rows ......evrything..do you back on chest day and another day of the week......;)

ok, guess ill start doing a few back excercises then :D
how much would be good since it is on bench day: maybe 1-2 excersises and 3 sets of 6-8?

i only do one at a time 6-8 reps and i actually do back two to three times a week.i do back on ME day and speed for sure.i just go through exercises when i get bored........

Barbell Bent over rows are the best lat exercise.

Pause the bar on the gound to reset yourself between each rep.

Bring the bar up to the spot where you bench

You dont need to go heavy. Train lats bodybuilder style. I used to go too heavy with sloppy form and it didnt hit my lats well.

I heard that at westside they don't go over 275. Think about that, they are a lot of them that are 600+ benchers and a few 700+ and they dont go over 275 in bent over rows.
 
Lats are one of the more fun exercises to do...because you can do so many different exercises for them. You can also do face pulls...and close grip pull downs, rev grip, chins...tons of stuff...

I really think that is my problem, since i never really feel these rows working either and since im trying to lift as much as possible!! I know If I did them slow, BB style them my back would probably be much happier the next day and they may work better! I think ill start that ... do them slower ... but still low reps 6-8 right? and only for this one excersice to do slowly? Thanks Cytomel....
