Which wires? The ones in the basement? If so, they are for thermostats, alarm wiring to and from the main panel and to contacts/motion sensors (you may see them in the corners of the rooms) Phone cables, (2 4 pair phone cables), Smoke detectors are low voltage and wired with the security system so the fire and police are called if there's a break in or fire. Heat and Carbon Monoxide detectors as well are low voltage and on the system. That particular room does not have speakers or controls to the theater area. The rest are just switch wires for the lights.
I'm not worried about someone stealing the weights but I don't want them coming in from the basement and going upstairs or whatever... You need to protect all entryways and motion in every area of the house.
