Beer and alcohol?

Nice read Bunny...There Is one thing I can disagree on though and It may just be me. Ive lifted the morning after drinking and SOMETIMES, Not all the Times, I actually feel stronger. Its weird. DOnt get me Wrong I always have a better workout when Im clean and not hungover but thats just my .02

just remember alcohol is about 7 calories...i'm in college too and its hard not to at times, but i notice when the intensity of my training picks up i lose the desire to go out and get plastered

:) Of course, Every 'body' is different & every reaction will not be there same.

My body use to do this when I was b/w the ages of 18-22 :) I never started getting hangovers until I was 25 either lol, AND I was a 'drinker' ... To each his/her own

*cheers*

At least try to go w/ a drink such as diet/bacardi or Vodka/tonic, beer puts on the lbs very quickly

When it comes to beer and alcohol it all depends on how serious you are. I can hit 8-9% while getting drunk twice a month (getting drunk means having about 12 drinks if you are wondering). I make sure it falls on a cheat day though, and if I plan on getting drunk I cut but the glutony during the day.

Is it ideal? Probably not.
Is it healthy? Probably not.

Have I reached my goals while doing it? Hell yeah, I just need to do an extra cardio session each week to burn off the extra calories.
Do I have fuckloads of fun on those nights? Hell yeah, I love it.
Is it one of the best mental releases out there? For me, no doubt about it.

If I ever needed to get more serious and thought about competing (which I don't ever want to do) it would be the first thing to change.

I have no problem whatsoever with drinking whel in "on" or off. I just work a little harder in the gym the next couple days..

Ha! I thought I was the only one who noticed this. There have been times where I have lifted much more and have done much better at sports the night after drinking. I THINK it happens when I drink a lot over a long period of time rather than drinking a lot in a short period. Reason: there may be a small amount of alcohol still in your system after you drink for a longer period of time and alcohol is an energizer.

I never feel stronger than when I'm drunk. I once lifted a full size couch above my head and through it out in the street when I was drunk. The next day I tried to lift the couch and could barely get it up at all. It kind of makes me want to go to the gym just once to see if I could do a pr a little intoxicated, but then I think about how I might get injured, so I never have.

BTW, has anyone tried lifting while they've been intoxicated?

I have also experienced strength increases when hungover. It is so weird. Granted, I am laying around all day, eating and drinking fluids until like 4 when I'd hit the gym, but my strength would be ridiculously higher.

Never lifted drunk though, don't plan on it either.
