Am I consuming too much protein ?

Hello. I'm curious about this.

yesterday I ate 5 times and added it up. I know I have to count fat & carbs too, but I added calories & protein. my calories totalled 1030 & my protein grams totalled 144.

BTW, my last post regarding my weight I typed it wrong. my weight was btwn. 125-130 now my weight is 135. I'm excited thinking that the 5lb. increase on the scale is muscle gain. my clothes fit the same, although some clothes feel loose & others feel normal. I don't understand that.

But, anyway back to my question. I have read & heard that you should consume 1 gr. protein per lb. of body weight. If I consume 144 gr. of protein am i going overboard ? will the extra protein harm me or my efforts in any way ?

It's kinda hard to get my protein amounts the exact same as my weight everyday ! Does it matter ?

Thanks !!! ;)

No, you should be fine. Just be sure to keep your carbs clean and on the lower end of the glycemic index.

is this complete proteins only, like meat and eggs, or are you counting all kinds like bread and pasta? If it's not complete then dont count it towards your protein totals. :)

If your protein grams totalled 144, then that means that more than 1/2 of your calories came from protein.

Your problem is not too much protein, it is that you are not eating enough! If you are training (and training hard according to your posts here and in the diet board) you need at least 1500 calories per day.

Try to include QUALITY proteins, fats, and carb sources.
