my moms tellin me not to work out cuz ive been sick for like over a week....she says i might have some shit called walking pneumonia (sp) my workouts in the past have only suffered a little in weight...but intensity is still there...

Your mom knows best. I almost gave myself a stroke or something because I was a bit congested and it was screwing up my breathing during heavy lifts. Take some time off, it won't kill you. You'll be suprised how little strength you will lose, if any. I actually set a couple personal record lifts after taking 10 days off...

Agreed.

I had to take a month off when I broke my hand. I hated not being in the gym and I missed the pump. But when I came back I was back to where I was in no time. Besides, the down time helped me in the long run as I tend to be a chronic overtrainer. Everyone has their cross to bear, lol!

I'm sure you won't need that much time away from the game, but just take it easy for a week or so.

Recovery is the most underrated variable in the bodybuilding equation. We can't all be Arnold.

just take a few days off to get well.... lifting while you are sick may only frustrate you. as your strength is generally only at 85-90% when you are sick...and like other have said, sometimes a little extra rest may improve your lifts as you have been able to adequately rest your muscles.....
