Abcess and Surgery

Hey guys

Saw a post about a guy having an "egg" or knot after an injection. I was going to respond but couldn't find it. Here's what happened to me on 5/16/08.

Injected some Winny with Prop and Primo. Next day sore and slight fever. Same the next day but more painfull. Long stroy short the pain got so bad I went to Er on Thursday (injected Sat.) They did a CAt Scan. I had an infected abcess that went from left cheek of my ass to my lower spine. It had eaten some of the tissue but not to much. The DR. did an emergency surgery and now I have a 7 inch cut horizontal that is about 4 inches deep. I have to change the dressing twice a day and let it heal from the inside out. Right now its closed to about 1.5 inches deep. DR. said if I had gone longer the abcess could've eaten more tissue and gotten more into the muscle fibers. I was lucky. So the moral of the story is don't fuck with it and if it hurts just go see the doctor. I could've left the hospital with half my ass missing. Just be careful that's all I say. I may attach some pics if I have time. The wound is pretty gnarly!!

Oh man I am sorry to hear that, good luck healing.

In retrospect, is there anything you would have done different? Also how many CC did you use and it was glutes, correct?

Yes it was the glutes. And what I injected was QV Winny that I had got in Mexico. I got it literally just before QV came tumbling down. It had never been opened, in fact it was still in the box with the plastic wrap around it. I typically drink it but for whatever fucking reason I just loaded (1cc Winny) it up with 1cc Prop and 1cc Primo.

Anyway thanks for the concern guys. And again just go to the DR if anyone has any fever, tenderness to the touch and it doesn't subside within 3 to 4 days. The fever is the thing to be careful about. Oh......and just drink the Winny...don't inject since there's noneed and water based are more prone to do this than oil based compounds.

Also, I regularly inj 2.5ml into my glute - is that too juch? I have a bit of a lump from last inj, more sore than usual but no rednesss.

I went through the same thing about 7 years ago. Not fun at all. Man yours did spread fast though. It took a couple weeks for mine to go from just another painfull injection to a good sized lump that wasn't going away.

i have been lucky to not have gotten test fever or an abscess yet. it is my biggest fear though.

hey bro...glad to hear you're doing better and that it didnt eat any muscle...

Im going through something similiar now (taking antibiotics, have to change the dressing daily) if u read my thread on here on it...got infected in both pecs, quad, and tricep that needed emergency surgery...moral is...always know your source, and use sterile injecting procedures, etc...glad to hear youre ok now though
