Ab Question

I've got a love/hate relationship with my abs. It looks like I have a "pooch" but when I flex my abs & try to grab "fat" or pinch an inch the only thing to grab is skin & a thin layer of "necessary" fat. But my ab muscles stick out in a pooch like fashion. They are not flat.

Thus, I've been working abs without weight as I figured that using weight would make my abs thick, causing them to stick out further. I do crunches, reverse crunches, the plank, and leg raises while holding a big ball in between my legs. Any other suggestions for ab moves? Am I doomed to never have flat abs?

Some people, especially women, just have rounded bellies. What you're describing sounds quite normal.

I don't think it's fair at all!! LOL I would really love the flat, 6 pack look, but wonder if I'll ever get it. My abs muscles just seem to be thick & curvy. I still look good.....;)

I feel the same way about myself, my waist is thick but I don't eat alot of carbs - but I am also on estrogen so that may contribute in my case.

Not sure how true this is....BUT someone once told me that if you don't "suck your abs in tight" while you are working them, your muscles will tend to pop out....if you suck them in, they will flatten.
