I was planning on baking some chicken for dinner tomorrow and wanted to ask a couple questions.

1. How long does it usually take to bake chicken breast? Im talking without putting them on the stove first.

2. Is it ok to bread them first?

3. What are some good healthy side dishes to go with my chicken?

I think I usually bake my chicken at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes, or until it's done. You will know it's done when there is no pink inside.

You can bread them first, but all you are doing is adding simple carbs so it depends on your goals. An alternative to breading them is seasoning them with Mrs Dash (Pick your favorite flavor) and a little wheat germ.

Boil up some whle grain brown rice (Use low sodium chicken stock instead of water)

Add in any of your favorite green veggies (Broccoli, green beans, green peppers, zuccini, cabbage). You can make a kick ass stir fry. Go heavy on the chicken and veggies and lite on the rice.

I like to bake up some sweet potatos as well. Wrap in tin foin and bake for an hour or so.

This will get you started, but there are thousands of things you can do with chicken.

Use a george forman for chicken - the fat drips off, and it only takes a couple of minutes cook - great for the impatient cooker.

The Foreman Grill all the way for me, I got sick of baking them in the oven. For some reason, when I cook them in the Foreman they stay moist longer, that or I just can't cook worth a damn in the oven.

It is also great because it can take 8-10 minutes to cook, pending on the size of the breast you put in there, and you can find those bags of chicken from Tyson that have their own individual bag so you don't have to worry about cooking the whole pack at the same time. Keeps them tasting tender and fresh because you cook them every day, lets say while you are showering. Wake up, pre-heat it, do something, throw seasoning on, put them in the Grill and get done in cooking in 8-10 minutes.

I have cooked them when they were frozen in the middle. Although, it takes longer to cook them. I never cooked them completly frozen, but people at work said they have before, it just takes longer.
