5X5 and Diet Question

First off, I know it's different for everyone, but generally how long was it before you started seeing size-related results from the 5x5 routine?

Second, I need to know... on average, how many cals does a 9oz chicken breast consist of? Because I still only get like 2400 calories, and I can get more if I have something besides tuna. I'm gonna try to shuffle more food down my throat. I don't necessarily wanna get huge, but for optimal size-gain, I must eat, this I know.

By the by, will flaxseed oil really help me that much, like... is it necessary, or can I fare well without it?
 
dude just EAT....freakin eat everything you possibly can...you aren't gonna get FAT that fast...just eat eat eat eat eat. how many times do people have to tell you to EAT.

eating is more important than going to the freakin gym!

you aren't gonna turn into ronnie coleman by doing 5x5 for a few weeks and increasing your calories so don't worry

Lol, I know man, I know. I just wanna keep it moderately clean. I mean, I ate like half a bag of oreos last night because of starvation, and didn't give a fuck.. then. Then I wokeup and was like "Ahhh! I'm a moron!"

Sprints should help it somewhat, though.
 
all that chicken and tuna and flax oil, that sounds like a cutting diet! eat some beef!
 
Haha, I just had my mom go out and buy some red meat to make burgers... do they really have that many more calories? I never got to check...

I weigh 165 now
 
I'm with Jeremys sounds like a cutting diet, 2400 cals in not enough to grow you should be getting 3500-4000, I weigh 150 and when I start bulking this up coming week thats what I am gonna be getting, don't base your diet around tuna and chicken when bulking, eat beef and tons of complex carbs. EFA (Essential fatty Acids) or flax seed oil is good to supplement with, also take a tbsp of olive oil in your protein drinks and eat alot of natural PB. All good fats that will help you grow.
 
people who are afraid to gain fat while bulking, are the people who usually stay the same size.

From personal experience, EAT when you are on the 5x5. I ate as those I was doing a cutting diet while doing that routine, and Im almost positive it is why I got buried after a month and a half or so. I find the 5x5 to be a rather taxing routine as you keep adding weight, and you really need to get in the nutrients. Im starting up a version of the 5x5 again this Thursday (after my 2 wk layoff) and Im definitely not going to eat like the last time I tried 5x5. FOOOOD
