1st competition: help with diet

So I met with BB friend. Il be adding eggs in the morning and slowly pulling out some of the "extra" carbs over the next few weeks. Since I added the three whey shakes, she thinks I'm getting enough protein. I'm to eliminate (over time) the banana and milk I use in my shake, the morning juice, bread, and protein bars.

She also says I should do BB, not wp. I dunno. I'm still kinda stuck on wp. I imagine she has some bias coz that's what she does, but I just don't "feel" like a bber if that makes sense.

I kinda think I understand what your saying.
But really with the weight training you will burn more cals for a longer period of time and you get the benefit of lean muscle chika.
You been doing a lot of home work and good for you, gr8 tude sista!

Do it for yourself, not your friend. If you don't want to do BB, don't. Aim for your own dreams and goals, not someone elses. :)

^^Agreed!

Again, my opinion, but I'd take her advice on diet with a grain of salt. You are too far out to be dropping carbs. Your diet plan you posted already looks lower in carbs to me so I'd be cautious of that. Carbs are muscle sparing and not the enemy. If you do drop them now, I'd do refeed days regularly to ensure adequate glycogen replenishing and energy levels but I personally think it's way too soon.

I agree with dropping the juice (empty calories) and I use milk sparingly BUT if you decide on a goal and set your calorie count around that goal, you'll be able to include most foods as long as it fits your macros. I agree with dropping the protein bars, too, but again, it's a personal bias of mine. I'd much rather get my calories from whole food sources and as you go into prep, you'll want as much food as you can get vs shakes/ bars.

For what it's worth, I'm in a very similar situation you are. I'm looking to compete again next June and my stats are similar. I'm doing a mini cut now to get down to about 15-20 lbs within stage weight. I'd like to hit that by October, hold it and maybe do a 12 week cycle to gain a bit, and then start prep towards the end of January. I'm sitting at 2000 calories/ day with a 50/30/20 p/c/f split and training 4 times per week, cardio for 30 mins/ 3x week, moderate intensity.

If you can take the bigger picture and then break it down into smaller time frames, all with little mini goals, it makes it much easier to plan diets, cycles etc.

Hope that helps! :)

I wish I could get all of you in one room and pick your brains! :) your help has been FANTASTIC!!! Thank you so much!

I did cut out the juice. I've kept some of the milk, particularly with two of the three shakes. Those two shakes are early in the day. The last one, I use water. The main reason I don't do water for the other two is bc it tastes like absolute ass with water! I hate it! I dry heave on every gulp! :)

I added eggs--3 whole ones-- to breakfast. I did try to back off some carbs. I ran a tally the other day and found my macro count to be 50/50 for p/c. Whoops! Think I screwed that up a bit. Lol. So I'm trying to get more in the range like Cali speaks of in her reply.

And as I've done that, I can feel my body tightening up but I'm also noticing another side effect that I'm not too happy about. There is no delicate way to say this, so plz forgive me... I feel like crap. Meaning, I feel like I have to shit all the time!!!! Lmao! I'm sooooo hoping that this will go away once my body adjusts to all the fibrous stuff I've been eating. Will it go away? If not, how in the hell do these women get up on stage, all perfect looking, and ignore that gnawing feeling in their guts?!? Omg I'm so gross! :)

On another note, I do have a carb up day. Fridays are a major cheat day. I try to be sensible about the cheat, but sometimes I do throw in some really bad stuff. Like last week's French fries!!! Yum!!! :)

LOL.
You chikas kill me!:FRlol::biggrin:
And it gr8 gettin to know you all.

Complete digestive enzymes help and dieter's tea if you get "stuck". Your body will adjust somewhat but believe me...a gas mask backstage is always a bonus! ;)
