10 things your gym won't tell you

i think it is just an excuse for lazy people NOT to work out. I say keep writing the articles. Keep all the "new years resolution" people at home. Fine with me! free's up space and don't have some tards asking me if "they an work in"...DURING MY SET! sorry rant over!

I always let people work in if they ask. Especially if i am lifting heavy and using a decent rest period between sets, whats the difference if someone else has a turn on the equipment while I'm resting. Grow up dude. Your workout is no more important then someone elses, regardless of what type of fantasy your living out in your head.

Whoever wrote that list has a chip on their shoulder. It's obviously very opinionated and subjective. Who gives a fuck what that guy thinks? Just use your brain when you go to a gym, that's all. I'm a trainer, and I help tons of people.

Completely agree. The comment on #5 about Chris Hinkle and his wife is interesting to say the least. Read the contract (golds) about moving 50 miles from your home gym (Texas) and when you do you will read that the manager from North Carolina should have contacted the mgr. in Texas to notify them of the change and to provide proof of the address change. They never give a refund on yearly memberships. My good friend owns a Golds 3 min. from my house and I asked him about this because of the shit talk about Golds on this forum, read your fucking contract before making false accusations and if you can't, get someone to explain it to you. Also, #9, leave your valuables in your car. WTF?

I totally agree with you on this one. A had a friend who was a rep/assist. manager and he told me that they expect the biz to pour in during jan-march and he told me personally that they also expect over 75% of the new members to never come back..It's the same thing with those excercie equipment commercials..They bank on you never using it...scammas! More room in the gym for us gearheads..

I agree on most of those - for the most part it is common sense, but in this world of 'implied self-entitlement" - people think that everything is on the up & up and if anything bad happens, it's someone else's fault who they can sue.

The reality is that it is Caveat Emtor, use a little common sense, and read your fine print. The one thing they are very good at is a tight contract that pretty much says everything.

Why would anyone want to quit Gold's? Just make sure you have using chalk, baby powder, and keeping your Gym bag with you, are all written into your contract.
