ANYONE WHO HAS USED Chromium Picolinate

Considering using Chromium Picolinate.. need your results and experiences from what I understand it can aid in bruning fat..

I'm trying to shred here.. problem is trying to still gain muscle mass too so it's a real struggle...

Anyways aside from fat burners i was looking at something like Chromium Picolinate because I thought it read it's a diuretic? (spelling?) and would remove water retention possibly and make me look more cut? Is that true? and how do you think that would work in conjunction with the purecee i'm taking.

Chromium was popular in the early to mid 90's as a fat loss aid and a blood sugar stabilizer. Never really lived up to do much of anything for the bodybuilding except to provide your body with a source of chromium. Don't expect much or anything at all.
 
it helps transport blood sugar... like the other guy said, it's not going to make any difference in body comp.
 
Chromium is linked to the actions of insulin within the body and this is what the supplement companies have used as their basis for 'claiming' that supplementing with Chromium Picolinate will help burn fat and build lean muscle. To date, no studies have been able to show any benefits with regards to weight loss and increasing muscle mass as a result of supplementing with Chromium Picolinate. Recent studies, however, have shown its ability to alter the DNA in test animals at dosage levels which are considered non-toxic.

If you are going to use a Chromium supplement then look for Chromium Polynicotinate or Chromium Chloride but don't expect it to support the claims of the supplement manufacturers. Vitamin C will enhance the absorption of Chromium as will aspirin. Calcium carbonate and magnesium hydroxide will reduce absorption rates.

RDA:
  • 35 mcg/day (male 19-50 years old)
  • 25 mcg/day (female 19-50 years old)

  • Broccoli (1/2 cup)

  • Green beans (1/2 cup)

  • Grape juice (8 fl. ounces)

  • Orange juice (8 fl. ounces)

  • Beef (3 ounces)

  • Turkey breast (3 ounces)

  • Apple w/ peel (1 medium)

  • Banana (1 medium)
    1.0

Also, if you are going to use any thermogenic type supplement then be aware that although they will stimulate the breakdown of fat cells, they will also inhibit the release of insulin. If growth hormone levels are high but insulin levels are low, insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) will not increase. IGF's are responsible for anabolic growth in muscle tissue. So thermogenic type supplements should not be used if you are trying to add mass at optimum levels.

So aside from the chromium questions and issues you are alos making a general statement that any fatu burner type sup from thermorexin to say stacker, and green tea extract etc.. can and will prohibit new muscle growth? and if so what extreme?
 
In general, any thermogenic supplement which will inhibit the release of insulin at a time when growth hormone levels are high will be counter-productive if your goal is to add mass. This is not to say that it will stop it completely but if we are talking about placing your body in a position where it is functioning at optimum levels, which is what we are all aiming for whether that be with bulking or cutting, then it will have an affect. To what degree will depend upon the individual, their physiology, their level of training, their nutritional intake, the type of thermogenic used, whether it is stacked with something it shouldn't be (ie: caffeine, tannin), and how the individual responds to the particular thermogenic supplement.

If you wish to use a thermogenic supplement and are aware of the associated risks then limit their use to when you are cutting.
