a big physique?

WOuld you like to have a 6 pack and well defined body vs. being big mofo with no 6 pack?

I have been training for 7 years and for the last 2 years I had chased that elusive damn 6 pack. I got into strict diet with 4 times running routine per week and 4 times weight training.

I used to be 6'2'' and 205 lb..After a few months I got to 177-180 and my abs could be seen , though no as those poster boys in those fitness magazine.

But the reverse of the coin ,was that I sacrifice a lot of muscle for that damn 6 pack...Friends said that I lost too much weight even females would say that would have liked "ME" when I was heavier with more muscle but no 6 pack..

Now I am going back to 190-195 lb ...I will shoot for a bigger body and bigger muscles...Just wanted to share and see what do you guys think...

Depends - I would like to be back to 230 but my acting auditions fo better at about 205 or so

Maybe you have a deficiency in the abdominal area- like physique great Boyer Coe did- and I'd raher look like him than me-huge friggin arm,s but he never had great abs. Neither did Arnold by the way.......

Well...I can get lean in 6 weeks or so...but it can take 6 years or more to get big.

This is a great point, It seems that it is much easier to diet down to see a sharp abdominal wall. As B Fold mentioned, it takes years to develop a large physique. Developing a large build requires a lot of energy, especially in food consumption and shifting around heavy weights. Right now, I am more interested in developing strength and size, so a pretty abdominal wall is not in the agenda at this point. Personally, I think this is much more challenging. I can already see my abdominal wall, but it is certainly nothing comparable to what Frank Zane displayed. It is all about what you want.

I am gonna go back to 190-195 and just try to stay there without anymore bulking-cutting cycle.
I think I just came to terms that I will never get both- 6 pack and big-so I will be happy to be in good shape and have decent abs and forms.

I think that being and feeling comfortable in your own skin is the most important thing that counts.

After 7 years of diligent training and trying out different routines in terms of training and diet, I am gonna settle down around 195 lb and just keep working out and mantain the same weight.

It was so damn frustrating that I had to lose so much muscle in order to get that damn 6 pack, in spite of ther fact that I am an ectomorph..

Anyway been there , done that..

Some preffer to be well defined with a 6 pack, some would like to be plain big and strong(see BFold) and ignore that darn washbord abs, some just to be in decent shape, other all of the above.

I was too skiny at 177 lb with a 6 pack but not too much muscle.

Go back to square one!
