Who Needs Dumbbells??

Well tonight I didn't!! I used all barbell movements. . . you know the kind that pack on strength and size to the frame;) .

Anyway, here are the specifics:

1. Barbell Curls -

warmups: 70lbs x 10, 90lbs x 5, 120lbs x 3
building set: 150lbs x 8 then RP x 3, then static and negative

2. Behind the Back Barbell Wrist Curls -

135lbs x 25, 155lbs x 17, 175lbs x 10, 195lbs x 6

3. Standing Barbell Toe Raises -

warmups: 135lbs x 30, 225lbs x 30, 295lbs x 12
building set: 345lbs x 8

4. Barbell Box Squats -

I used a 2 to 3 second pause over the box; it was a killer!!

135lbs x 5 - 3 seconds
225lbs x 5 - 3 seconds
275lbs x 5 - 3 seconds
325lbs x 5 - 2 seconds
355lbs x 5 - (tough!!!) 2 seconds
375lbs x 5 - (really tough!!!) 2 seconds, damn near failed on last rep!! (safety bars were up so I would have been saved)

5. Barbell Stiff Leg Deadlifts -

warmups: 135lbs x 10, 225lbs x 10, 275lbs x 10
building set: 345lbs x 6


hips are trashed!!!!
After the stiff leg deads, I started to get sick. . .but I was OK.
 
Louden, you keep on progressing. Low volume/high intensity really does work. For you and for me. I'll never go back to standard bodybuilding routines.

Rev, I always notice you getting stronger.

You also give me motivation when I train. . I think of your overhead presses and deadlifts;)

Promise me that you will hit the buffet!;)

I am thinking about dialing it down in the next couple of weeks. . .I may focus on using lighter weights and incorporating straight sets. . .nothing to failure.
 
what was your box height.........parallel, above, below???
