As much as I support our military, I have to disapprove on this one. That's over the top. Once the enemy is neutralized (dead in this case), normal human respect is due.

Then again, it's not like we drove a truck full of explosives into a barracks, shot down an airliner full of civilians, crashed 3 planes full of innocent people, decapitated a journalist, paid Mexican mafioso to kill a rival diplomat, or used mustard gas on our own people....but hey, that's just me.

man i agree with your hostility, fuk them in everyway...but what seperates us from them is our decency...shoot the soliders, blow them up, have no mercy...but show the dead respect, and act like a professional.

Lol. Since when did the Marines need your approval?? I am aware this is an internet site and people are entitled to their own opinion but I think you are a little discombobulated in relation to how a war should be conducted. First, there is no such thing as "rules to war," the main objective is to slaughter the enemy to the point of submission or just totally obliterate them.The manner in how a military does the job is irrelevant as long as the mission is accomplished. Second, there is no such thing as "war etiquette." What the Marines did is something called "psychological ops or psy ops," meaning they were playing on the enemies' mind and emotions. The enemy never deserves respect nor empathy wheather they are dead or alive. If you have "empathy" for the enemy you make yourself vulnerable, which is not good for morale (Esprit De Corps) and it hinders motivation to kill, then you are in big trouble! It is necessary for a soldier to have "apathy" for their enemy, in order to get the job done in a precise, exact fashion, it is almost robotic. My attitude wins wars, your attitude loses wars... This gives you something to consider before you make another contradicting, overgeneralized statement!

What exactly does "normal human respect is due" mean????

Actually, I thought what the Marines did was kind of silly, however, simultaneously I thought it was brilliant.
