Which protein shakes and bars do you use for cutting?

Right now, I am going with good old reliable Designer Whey. I am going to stick with it for my upcoming cutter. Unless, that is you guys can recommend something more appropriate.

As far as bars, I am completely lost. The only ones I have used recently are Metrx big 100 bars, but that was for bulking. This time I am leaning toward EAS moplex light.

Anybody have any recommendations?

When every calorie counts...I find that bars just don't fit into my plans...so I tend to leave them out altogether. I guess if you can fit them into your totals, I'd go for a low-sugar bar and watch out for hydrogenated fats.

EAS moplex light is a very bad bar for any occassion. It's full of sugars, bad fats and low in protein.

For cutting I prefer to eat food instead of bars cause it makes you more full and is less dense than bars. For example a salad with chicken breast works great and may have less cals than a single protein bar, yet much more satisfying. As for when you must have a bar, I would go with a bar with no sugar, low GI bar with no trans fats. The new Pure Protein Smore's bar just released by worldwide is just the answer.

I haven't actually seen a bar I liked from a nutritional standpoint, glorified candy bars. I would rather carry a shaker bottle and some baggies with pre-measured amounts of protein powder. Carry an apple if you need a carb source or fish oil capsules / seeds/ nuts for a protein/fat meal which I prefer.

I also prefer my milk isolate powder to whey for regular use and only use whey in my workout and post workout shakes.

That is a DAMN good point. I will look into those bars. I assume you are suggesting the smores over the other flavours because they have zero sugar. It certainly does have an impressive calorie profile.

I try to go with real food, but I work long, night hours, and sometimes there is a five hour stretch with no chance to eat. I find bars come in handy for that.

Any recommendations on shakes?

Also, could you get a peak at my thread on the Anabolic board? It is titled, "Mods and Vets: Help me tweak my summer cycle"? I'm having trouble getting responses, and I'd like your input.

Karma to you and all who replied.
