When should I carb up?

I currently eat a moderate amount of calories at about a 50-25-25 (P-F-C) macronutrient breakdown, and I've seen some good results in the past weeks. After my post-weights shake around 1:00pm I really try to cut back on the carbs the rest of the day. I sometimes get minor cravings for carbs, but nothing terrible. Anyways, here's my question:

If I'm going to eat a "carb-up" meal or two (hopefully not an entire day), when should I do it if this is my workout schedule:

Monday: Weights at lunch
Tuesday: Weights at lunch
Wednesday: Weights at lunch
Thursday: Weights at lunch
Friday: Cardio at lunch
Saturday: Cardio first thing in the morning, maybe weights later on in the day
Sunday: Cardio first thing in the morning, maybe weights later on in the day

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Well first thing is you dont really need a carbup because you are not on a CKD or any type of keto diet

I dont know much about carbing up. Dont have much experience in it, but this is what i'm doing now based on my own common sense.

Im on the ANBP diet. and i do a carb up starting thursday( high GI carbs in the morning before workout, burrito after workout, pasta for dinner).

Reason i do this then is because on thursdays i work out my chest and friday morning i have my biceps and triceps. I figure i might as well carb up then and get the best overload on those bodyparts because they are funest to work. i would like them both to hold size most of anything i might lose on a diet.

For you i would do a carbup day sometime on monday tuesday thursday or friday.. one of those days durring your lifting days..

i would do this because you dont want to be doing carbup when you are trying to do cardio on the weekends. it would sortof defeat the purpose in my opinion.

Okay, two more questions then...

1.) would doing a "carb-up" Sunday after morning cardio but before evening weights be a good time?

2.) do I want to "carb-up" before my lunchtime weight workout, or after...and if after, do I want it to be my first meal after the weights or just any time after (but not too late at night)?

I say "carb-up" because, like you said, I'm not doing a CKD...but I do keep my carbs low and have felt some of the effects from that, so I want to have a meal or two a week to sort of re-charge my battery. Thanks again for any advice! :)

Yah sounds more like a refeed - which is probably just what you need after eating below maintenance for awhile (like you said - a recharge).

Personally, I would load up on the carbs before and after the workout on whatever day you pick to refeed.

I wouldnt consider it a carb up, just have a cheat meal if you feel that you really need one. I feel that the only place for a carb up meal or carb up day is when using a zero to very low carb diet such as CKD.

So when would be the best time for a cheat meal then, to try and minimize the amount of fat I'd store and perhaps even use some of that cheat meal to help build/preserve muscle?
