When should dips be done -- before or after bench press?

When do you all think dips should be done (i.e., before or after bench press)? My chest routine is as follows:

flat db press 3 X 6-8
incline db press 3 X 6-8
flat or incline flies 3 X 8-12
dips
pec deck 3 X 6-8

Should I do dips first, though it may mean bench pressing less weight? Or should I do dips later, though it means fewer dips? Or does it matter? Thanks.

I think most would agree to take care of the big three lifts first in the workout - when energy is still high. In this case, bench press before dips.

I may be a little different than most but here's how I do it....

Chest day 1

Flat Bench
Dips
Incline
etc.

Chest Day 2

Incline
Flat bench
Dips
etc.

Chest Day 3

Incline
Dips
Flat Bench
etc.

Chest Day 4

Flat bench
Incline
Dips
etc.

I think dips (paralell bars) are a great compound movement so I like to keep them fairly high on my priority list, plus I love doing them :) I also think they are a lot more usefull/better than doing flyes so should be done before them at the very least.

Too many sets and exercises:

Pick either flyes or pek deck and then choose two from dips, flat bench and incline bench and do two sets for each.

That'll be 6 sets in total.

Do the benching/ dips first, then the flyes.

Make sure you warm up throughly too, but don't fatigue the muscle too much. You don't want it to affect your big lifts.

Keep the same exercise and order of exercises each week so you can keep a track of progress better - add reps or weight each week.
