Humble Pie for Me
I was training tri's and was doing headbangers on the stability ball. As I'm grooving to my headset tune, I blissfully try to hoist up the bar as I'm seated, with too much emphasis on bringing the bar upwards towards my head and not enough on simultaneously leaning back to gain a stable position. In the wink of an eye, my sorry ass is smacked down on the ground as the ball gave way under me and I hit the floor with a thud. My right hand and fingers seemed a little jammed, but I had my gloves on and it somehow protected me from my damage. I looked around to see who saw me as it was extremely embarrassing, but the other beach bunnies and surfer dudes were too busy lifting their weights to notice, thank God. Feeling humbled and foolish, but not finished, I had to start all over again cause I was only on my first set and had to do all 3. Not too much damage to my hand; but more to my ego.
Lesson to remember: Watch out for yourself AND your own safety while you're getting off on the freaks who do their comedy skits!
It must have looked funny to some, though, who were off in the backround and I didn't see.
