When I payed my taxes, they were just numbers on paper. It was taken out and it sucked, but it didn't really mean much to me. I figured there was a good reason for it and went about life.
Now that I am seeing what it is like when done differently, it is making me question things.
The U.S. taxes are used for various things, which is all well and good, but I no longer feel the need to make use of any of those things.
So I don't particularly feel like being a part of that club anymore. Just because I was born into it doesn't mean I should still have to pay the member fees.

I am on work permit now because I am not married. Once I am married I don't need that. Therefore it would no longer matter where I was a registered citizen since I would be living here as a SoB (spouse of...).

Yeah, I think you are missing the point.
I have no interest in actually living in Canada.
I only am interested in being a citizen there, then leaving. If you have Canadian citizenship and don't live there (and don't own land), then you don't pay Canadian taxes.
I'm fine living here, I just am not interested in paying taxes for a country that I don't live in and don't consume their resources.
