Water weight?????

So...I had a way-worse-than-usual cheat day yesterday, including to much soy sauce and a crapload of not-so-healthy food (bad...I know). This morning, I weigh 9 POUNDS heavier!!!!! Is it really possible to gain THAT much in water weight in 24 hours?? So I'm chuggin the water today; it should be gone by tomorrow, right?

give it a day or two - if you freak out because it isnt' gone TOMORROW that doesn't accomplish anything. Soy sauce = mega sodium. Any heavy carb loading will also increase water retention. Watch your complex carb intake for a few days, stay away from the salt, lots of water. And don't sweat it. You can have daily "weight' fluctuations all the time - its the general trend up or down that you need to watch.

Yes, it's possible....Women can fluctuate between 5-10lbs of water daily, let alone during their cycle.....Throw a high carb day in with mucho sodium & there you go.

It'll go away - keep drinking your water.....

I've gone up more than that before. Drink you water- drink, drink, drink. Then your body will start letting go of that water your holding and you'll fit your jeans again ;) .

It will go away, but it may take more than a day. Sometimes, it will take me a good 4-5 days to get back to my original scale weight after just one night of a rich cheat meal. I'm just warning you so you don't freak out.

^^ yup ...

With the others, sure it's possible :)

Do you know how people often say high consumption of salt only results in temporary weight gain as it causes your body to retain water ? Well a NICE big cheat of carbs will do the same thing, hold onto that liquid for dear life :)

At least you recognize it's NOT 9 lbs of fat :D

Drink more water than you think humanly possible. :)

Buy some Glucorell-R to use before, during and after a cheat meal. Of course, it won't help with the sodium-related water retention, but it WILL help with carbs.

I used to take a million Gluc-R's during my all out cheat DAYS (where I ate everything in sight all day) and as long as my water consumption was normal (around a gallon or more) then there would be NO difference on the scale the next day.

Yes it is.
Keep drinking that water - until you float - oh and use a straw it's easy to drink more.

And give it a few days.
