I want you to think, long and hard, about the fact the commandment is "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." Think about it. Let me share something from real life. I pushed for the divorce from my ex because there was somebody out there better for her based on the desires she expressed to me. That being said, she described me as the kindest person she's ever known and on the way to our final court appearance for the dissolution she admitted that she didn't realize what she had.... I get that a lot from my ex's....Good luck finding an ex that has a bad word to say about me as a person or how I treated them.

Yahweh is a Jewish tribal god, just like the Dagda was a tribal Celtic god, or Zeus was a tribal Greek god.

And really, I was quoting directly from the 10 commandments. There is no "taking it out of context." These are laws that stand on their own. You want to tell me "thou shalt no kill" can be contextually interpreted?

I'm sorry, dear, but you've got it backwards. The friendship part is critical ... hot, sweaty, dirty talking hair pulling is something you can develop. However, if a mental connection isn't there to begin with, it will NEVER be there. So when sweaty hair pulling gets boring (and trust me, it will, there is NO relationship that can last based PURELY on physicality) you look at each other and go "WHAT?" And realize you've made a major life mistake.

Seriously, why do you think the divorce rate is over 50%? It's because young dumb fucks like you, male and female, think sexual chemistry = sound relationship foundation.

And I can say this because 28 years ago, I believed the same damned thing.

My first monogamous relationship lasted 1.5 years.

My first marriage lasted 10 years and didn't start getting rocky until the second half, when I realized he didn't understand the difference between childlike and childish.

I'm going on 17 years with marriage 2 and we're extremely happy.

So I want you to explain to me, in explicit detail, exactly what you know -- that I do not -- that goes into development and maintenance of a successful long term monogamous relationship.

Big reason the divorce rate is over 50% because its more socially accepted. Its like going to buy a car nowdays. We just happen to be the generation in which social acceptance decided to parrellel. I guarentee earlier generations confronted the same issues, but nomatter what they felt divorce was never an option.

Lets couple that with the fact that most people no longer go to a "church" or have any organized religious beliefs plays a huge role. Can you argue that, you clearly are not a Christian and for most "average" Americans there are no alternative belief systems like your own. What I mean by that is either they are Christians or they basically dont know WTF they believe in. What you did unlike pretty much everyone else on this board is look deeper within yourself and your belief system and question it. You read more, became more informed and ultimately embraced what you believe in today. Kudos to you, I respect that. With that said.....
