Tricks to get rid of post Workout pain

Hey guys, lately I have been working out extremely hard, 1 muscle group 1x each week, about 9-10 sets per muscle.
Anyways, I love the tenderness in the muscle the next day.. but when 2-3 muscle groups are aching at the same time its starting to make me feel really stiff. I thought I would start a thread with tips on how to prevent muscle soarness. I'll contribute a couple, but any more would be greatly appreciated.

1. Have a nice long stretch when your finished, hold all stretches for 30 seconds to 1 minute

2. Use active recovery techniques.. heres a thread that described them
http://boards.elitefitness.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=138023

3.Take an iron pill daily. From what I've heard and read iron increases the ammount of oxygen your blood can carry. This will help remove the acid buildup in muscle tissue(which will help prevent soarness)

4. I also take a multi-vitamin daily.. not too sure of its effect on muscle soarness, but I figure its better than not taking one at all.

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Ryan

I would like to add what works for me...

1) Post workout diet is pretty important to me, Lot's of dextrose, tons of whey, BCAA's with creatine/glutamine.
2) lot's of water period.
3)I sometimes take an asperin (not TYLENOL NEVER!) before bed.
5)Good real food protien before sleep (tuna, chicken, cottage cheese)

When I am too sore overall a reality check reveals my diet has slipped too low..

My girl is a massage therapist. She rubs the crap out of my muscles with different oils or icyhot(thanks Bfold). I think eating like a f'n pig helps too.

1000mg of vitamin c, it helps get rid of the free radicals roaming around in your body after an intense workout, take it just prior or just after your workout

needsize is right about the vitamin C I eat a grapefruit after my workout to raise insulin levels to allow the "shuttling" of nutrients into the cells. right after the grapefruit i have a protein shake about 30-40g of protein and no fat. a little over an hour then I have about 4 egg whites to make sure my body has protein in its system that breaks down slower than whey so i don't turn catabolic. Plus I take a scalding hot shower to promote blood flow.....

Thanks for the info guys..
Yea.. I've been eating like a famine is coming recently...
I went from 178 to 190 since August 12th...(started taking creatine too so a lot of that will be water)
I've been taking 1000mg Vitamin C every morning when i wake up.
I also take
2 zinc pills
1 vitamin B complex
1 Glucosamine
2 multivitamins
5g creatine a day
and eat like this might be my last day on earth...
Thanks for the tips!

massage is probably the single best thing..if you can aford it or have a willing gf.

close second is alternating freezing cold + very hot for about a minute each for like 20-30 cycles.

this works well if you have a bucket full of ice water you can jump in and out of.

stretching is always good. AFTER, not before or during w/o.
