Case in point. I began dating my current wife, her nephew was 18 and worked out at my gym. Was there every day, 2 hours, doing umpteen hundred sets, never making progress, never getting stronger.
This post is about a new person not really knowing about overtraining by the way.
Well I began dating his aunt and one day at his grandma's house for sunday dinner he asked me to work out with him. I agreed to and to help him with diet. Well it was hell getting it through that kid's head that we were not going to train every day. On off days i'd stop by the gym to yack at folks and he would be working out. Finally drilled it in to him to do what I said, train when I said we trained.
Result? We have trained together for a year. His bench has gone from 225 to 315. His abs are tight now. He has put about 2inches on his arms. Everyone says the most amazing transformation in our gym is him(grant).
Ah yet, none of the bastards has yet to say 'good job terry'....ah except grant.
