a couple of weeks ago I had switched m grip on the bench press so that my thumbs went over my fingers, from just having the bar rest in my palm. my left wrist hurts, particularly on the same side my pinky is on, by the tendons. it doesn't hurt all the time, only if I articulate my hand in a wierd position, or twist my wrist. I have gone back to the previous grip to see if it is just a muscle strain.
also, for deadlifts and other pulling exercises, I have gone accustomed to the grip where the fingers are over the thumb, where the thumb wraps around the bar first, then the fingers. it took a little getting used to, but I think I am going to like this kinda of grip.
