strange squatting thing

When I squat to atleast parallel with no weight on my back, I feel slight pain due to my patella tendonitis. However, when I load the bar up with say, 200 lbs, and I squat to atleast parallel, I don't feel any pain. Is this normal? Or is there something wrong with my form.
 
You probably recruit your hamstrings more when you have more weight on it, and that helps to support your patella tendon. Without seeing pics or vids, I can't really say, though.
 
This happens to me on the bench. With warm up weight my shoulders hurt, but when the bar is loaded up I have minimal pain.
