Hey,
I'm a thin guy... and I stopped lifting seriously about 2 months ago... everytime I stop lifting, I loss LOTS of muscle mass... I know the easy solution would be not to stop.
BUT,
I know there are some supplements that can aid in preventing the body from canabilizing it's own muscle...
any thoughts???
thanks,
JOE

you are lucky. i have a friend who went on a two week car trip. he wasn't able to lift or even do much 'cause he spent a lot of time just in a car. he lost 10lbs.

Well there is no magic supplement that will allow you to keep your muscle when you stop working out. Your best bet is through diet, up your calories and you'll keep your muscles longer. OR....

Don't stop your training, even 2 sessions a week will help you keep tons of muscle.

i went to nantucket for 5 days, drank every nite, ate not enough and poorly, and lost 10 lbs, it was cool in that stomach leaned out a lot, but i was deflated as hell

Believe me you will get it back!! Just increase the calories and get to the gym. I went off to New Mexico earlier this summer for two weeks for field studies for the university. I was limited to eating 2 or 3 squares a day, plus I was burning tons of calories climbing mountains. To top it off, I couldn't train!! I noticed how my physique became flat and my thighs started to shrink. When I returned home, I was very weak and maxing out with weights that I normally work out with. I struggled with 275lb squats!!! Anyway, I started eating big and training hard and I am back to normal. You will be fine!!

the past few weeks, my training has been pretty crappy; 2 days a week if im lucky (because of school, work, minor injuries, etc), but i have not lost anything. either im lucky, or Ingram up there is dead on. try to train whenever you can.

Gee, that's a big weight loss. I have stopped training for 21/2 months due to contracting a bout of mono, but only lost about 5 pounds, and i am not a big guy. I lost muscle hardness and strength but not as much weight as i thought i would. I was conscious to keep eating throughout the illness, particularly keeping my carbs high

I took 6 months off when my little girl was born, Gained about 20, when you roll over at night and your stomach is resting on the bed next to you, and your kid it trying to breast feed from you and not your wife because your tits are bigger,
It's time to go back. be thankful you lose and not gain.

Like ingram said, if you can lift one or two time per week it can help stop atrophy.

Just a few INTENSE sets per bodypart. Try to use the same weight on all exercises.

And you have to eat at least maintenance or you WILL lose muscle.
