Steeldude TRT Journey + Bloodwork

New member
For the past 3 months I have been trying to get on TRT. I have seen 5 different gps, a urologist and an endocrinologist with no luck yet...

I have decided to make a post of my journey for my own sanity.

stats:
29, 5'10", 160 lbs, 20% bf
Lifting on and off for the past 10 years natural. No longer able to build muscle mass through lifting and diet.

latest bloodwork:
Total Test: 16 nmol/L (8.3-29)
Free Test: 201 pmol/L (225-725)
Shbg: 69 nmol/L (11-71)
DHEAS: 4.2 umol/L (3-10)
Albumin: 45 g/L (38-50)
E2: 95 pmol/L (<150)
LH: 6.3 IU/L (<7)
FSH: 15 IU/L (<7)
IGF-1: 210 ug/L (96-228)
TSH: 4.86 (0.4-3.5)
FT4: 13 pmol/L (10-20)
FT3: 4.6 pmol/L (3.5-6)
RT3: 401 pmol/L (170-450)
prolactin: 287 mIU/L (73-410)

I feel like crap at the moment all signs of low T symptoms: no energy or drive for life, depression, no libido, ed problems, no night time or morning wood, inability to gain muscle and brain fog.

I believe I probably have primary hypogonadism (low free T and high FSH) and hypothyroidism (highish TSH with high rt3).

So my treatment protocol when I finally find a good doctor will be:

- t3 (cytomel) to clear rt3
- Proviron to bring down SHBG
- Test cyp or prop for trt 100/200mg per week.
- caber to bring down Prolactin a bit.

Appreciate any comments, criticisms or advice. I'll keep updating this thread with my progress.

Completed bloods 2 weeks ago for an aging clinic of sorts. Spoke with their consultant today. They were not concerned with my low free testosterone reading and refused to treat me as I didn't fit into their protocol.

The consultant advised me that there is "No way of treating low free testosterone and we would be guilty of malpractice if we gave you testosterone at your current total test levels".

No one I have spoken with in the Australian medical community gets the importance of free testosterone. Getting really frustrated at this point.

I have more appointments with 2 specialist gps and an endo later this month. Fingers crossed.

Damn. I've heard Australian doctors are a little more strict, or wary, about hormone manipulation.
As far as the numbers, the scale is way different than the ones I'm used to, so it makes it harder for me to judge. But you're definitely on the lower end for sure.

Yeah. That is putting it lightly. To qualify for govt. subsidised trt your total test needs to be below 172ng/dl.

In 2015 they changed the regs, gps can no longer prescribe testosterone unless they have written authorisation from a specialist. ie. no doctor is willing to get written authorisation and they just send you to a specialist. I have been to a urologist who didn't even know or care about testing testosterone.

My gp also referred me to an endocrinologist who refused to see me as he stated my levels were very close to the normal range and there was nothing he could do for me....

Very frustrated at this point. Maybe I should move to the US...lol. Hormone replacement seems to be way better understood over there.

Getting sick of being treated like a crimimal for asking for trt. May have to go down the self-treatment route if I dont get some answers soon. Its taking too much time and costing too much money to find a doctor that will listen.

Ok so finally found a good doctor that has put me on TRT.

Doctor said Test enanthate 250mg every 10 days. Currently dosing at 125mg every 3 days. anastrozole 0.25mg every 3 or 4 days. Danazol EOD 100mg.

I'm in week 2 at the moment and these are the changes I have noticed.
- Confidence is up
- General sense of wellbeing. Im still doing the same shit I was 2 weeks ago but everything seems better. Like Im more at piece with the world and food tastes better.
- Sex drive is up. Find myself checking out chicks constantly. Ugly / older / fatter chicks all seem to be hotter. Yes, id tap that, and that and even that.
- Nitetime / morning wood every night. Didnt get this much before glad that this is back.
-Appetite way up. Hungry all the time. Food tastes awesome.

Been training hard hoping to see some gains in the gym. Also have probably doubled calories but i'm not putting on weight. I'm eating everything in site but the scales haven't budged. Maybe metabolism is up?
